There’s been buzz in the astrology community about today’s Sagittarius new moon, and I’m both happy and relieved a couple interpretations came true for me. I really needed this.
While catching up on a class recording about the planets, Jupiter’s different associations finally clicked for me.
- Saying yes to opportunity, taking a chance, expands your world
- The home you grew up in shapes your ability to spot an opportunity, and whether you can believe that it will work out
After class, I made myself a hojicha milk tea to the sound of some neighbors’ singing, and sat on our little balcony with Daniel. I started to journal some themes I’d like to be intentional about this summer.
- Getting life to a stable place: returns, car fixes, getting through the last of the moving boxes, cleaning
- Specific to today, feel the “muse’s” energy
- Become more in tune with my real self. To value my own opinion.
- Build my communities of people, and make some new happy memories together
I ended up touching on each one:
- I started on my returns, did 3 rounds of dishes, and 2 rounds of laundry
- Tried out 2 different zine ideas I had. I had a small breakthrough - that trying out ideas and having them not work out is a good thing. It’s part of the creative process, and it shrinks my scary long list of ideas I’d regret never trying. It’s normal to not love an idea once you started, and adapting after conducting some more research. It was this way when I was in college and I’ve simply forgotten.
- I cleaned up my art instagram and started to put together a collection of my process as well as ones of my inspirations. It felt satisfying to see all the different things I do in one place. It felt satisfying to see a collection of inspiration that spoke to me as an artist, rather than a working designer.
- And finally, I ended up putting together a party of 5 people to enjoy some kbbq outside, in some lovely backyard with olive trees. 5 people I feel totally comfortable being myself around.
It’s been such a remarkable day. Thanks, Sagittarius energy.
Some photos of my physical and digital creative spaces. I’m really looking forward to putting more of myself in each.
